Opinion

Geoscientist carries opinion pieces most months, and provides a forum for any Fellow of the Society (or indeed anyone else with well-articulated strong feelings) to ride a hobbyhorse of their choice.

Because it exists as a "fourth estate" within the Society under an independent Editor-in-Chief, Geoscientist is the Fellowship's magazine and is not subject to editorial control by Council.  Opinions expressed in the magazine are those of their authors alone, and unless otherwise stated do not necessarily reflect the views of the Society.  For Society views, please consult the section "Our Views".

If you are interested in standing on your soapbox, please email the Editor with your idea.  Opinion pieces must be no more than 1000 words long and should be illustrated.
