Who can use the Library?
Society Fellows, Candidate Fellows, employees of Corporate Affiliates.
Friends of the Geological Society can use the Fellows’ Room at any time. Use of Library materials for reference services by Friends incurs a charge of £10.00 per day.
Members of the 'Courtyard Societies' by arrangement with their Librarians:
- Linnean Society
- Royal Astronomical Society
- Royal Society of Chemistry
- Society of Antiquaries
- AAPG
- PESGB
- Geological Society of America
- Institution of Materials Mining and Metallurgy
- Institute of Geologists of Ireland
Visitors to the Library
Non-members can use the Library for reference services by appointment only. A charge of £26.00 per day applies (£16.00 after 1pm; £10.00 concessions).
To make an appointment call +44 (0) 20 7432 0999 or email library@geolsoc.org.uk. This is also an opportunity to ensure we have the materials you need and advise you if there is a better alternative. All Archive enquiries should be directed to the Archivist.
Non-members who are accompanied by a Fellow do not need to make an appointment but the above charges will apply if using Library materials. Fellows may bring visitors to use the Fellows' Room free of charge.
