Literature Searches

This service is available to all Fellows of the Geological Society and employees of Corporate Affiliates.  It is not available to non-members.

The Library has access to a number of bibliographic databases, both online and on CD-ROM, which are listed below.

Database searches can be made by Fellows visiting the Library (an appointment is advisable) or can be carried out by the Library staff (Charges apply).  Literature search results can be printed out or downloaded to disk or memory stick as required. These can be purchased at the Library Enquiry Desk. To prevent the introduction of computer viruses, people are not allowed to use disks or memory sticks they have brought with them.

Requests for literature searches by library staff should be submitted using the online Literature Search Form.

Alternatively print out a PDF version of the form and fax or post it to the Library.

If you would like to do a literature search yourself, but are unable to visit the Library, see our list of free (multi-subject) literature search databases.
