Inclusion Criteria

In assessing whether links to third party resources should be included in the Lyell Centre, the Society’s staff and Information Management Committee consider a number of factors, including the following:

• The resource in question must be of scientific and/or historical interest to the Society’s Fellows and others in the Earth science community
• Its source must be authoritative
• It must be consistent with the interests and values of the Geological Society
• A significant amount of content (though not necessarily all) must be available free of charge to Fellows
• It must meet reasonable standards of functionality and presentation
• Management of these links by the Society’s staff must be practical and affordable
