The Society's first Minute Book
A digital copy of the Society's first 'Ordinary' Minute Book, covering the period from the Society's foundation on 13 November 1807 to 16 January 1818, has been made to preserve the original. It records the election of all members (later Fellows) up to member No. 453, Thomas Lauder Dick of Relugas, near Forres. It also records all papers read at the Society's regular (fortnightly) meetings together with lists of donations to the Library and Museum.
An extract covering the first year of the Society's existence is freely available online (see below). Copies of the whole volume on CD-ROM may be purchased from the Library at a cost of £20 +VAT. Prepayment required.
