The past decade has seen the academic community significantly advance our understanding of organic rich rocks using novel techniques and new analytical tools. The industry challenge continues to be predicting the spatial and temporal distribution of effective source rocks in places like undrilled passive margins.
This collaborative conference is an opportunity for the communities to share their knowledge and understanding and their challenges ahead and will consist of two days of talks including a hot buffet for delegates on the evening of Monday 12 September
Registration fees will be £150 for Fellows of the Society and £250 for Non Fellows.
We invite papers on:
- Petrophysical and Geophysical Characterisation: Porosity, Permeability, and Velocity
- Chemical Characterisation: Chemistry and Isotopes
- Modes of Formation: Climatology, Micro-biology, Nutrient Supply, Productivity, Preservation, Marine and non-Marine, Basin Geometries
- Prediction of Source Rock Distribution: Modern Anoxic Systems
- Source Rock Generation and Expulsion Systematics
- Source Prediction Case Studies
- Shale Gas
