Meeting Grants
The Geochemistry Group offers monetary contributions to support national and international meetings on geochemical topics being organised by sister scientific societies and groups. Organisers seeking support should download the application form below and forward it to the Group Treasurer, normally at least 12 months before the proposed meeting is scheduled to take place.- Download the application form (.rtf 60 Kb)
The next Geochemistry Group Research in Progress Meeting will be held on 4 March 2010, at Burlington House. The theme for this meeting is ‘Carbon System Science’ and will include sessions on Planetary Carbon, Paleocarbon and Modern Carbon. Further details will be available soon.

- 'Laboratory and Field Instrumentation in Forensic Geoscience', Burlington House, December 2008, organised by the Forensic Geoscience group. The Geochemistry Group provided sponsorship for speakers.

Geological Society Bicentennial Conference 10-12 September 2007. The Geochemistry group organised two sessions:
- Geochemical proxies for environmental change - convened by Kym Jarvis and Ian Jarvis Invited presenter Prof Ian Fairchild, Univ of Birmingham.
- Environmental impacts and methods for assessing contaminated land - convened by Kathryn Linge and Karen Hudson-Edwards.
Student Bursaries
The Geochemistry group welcomes applications from postgraduate researchers registered at UK universities or research institutions to aid travel to a geochemistry meeting either in the UK or internationally. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered eligible:- The student must present either a talk or a poster. Oral papers will be given precedence.
- The student’s research must fall within the remit of the Geochemistry Group
- Preference will be given to members of the Mineralogical Society or Geological Society

Successful applicants are required to submit a brief report within three months of attendance of the meeting for possible publication on the Group’s website. To apply, students should download the application form below and email it to the Secretary.
