The Engineering Group Forum and the 10th Glossop Lecture and Glossop Award will be held in London at the premises of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) on 25 November 2009. The event will be followed by the Glossop Dinner, which will also be held at the RGS.

Engineering Group Forum
The Engineering Group Forum is held every year to provide an opportunity for members of the Engineering Geology community to get together and enjoy a day of presentations and discussions around a central theme. The title of this the 3rd Engineering Group Forum is:’Planning in Engineering Geology’

Glossop Lecture, Glossop Award and Glossop Dinner
The annual Glossop Lecture is the UK’s premier Engineering Geology event and each year the Glossop Lecturer is chosen both on the grounds of their contribution to Engineering Geology and the esteem in which they are held by the Engineering Geology community.The 10th Glossop Lecture will be delivered this year by Professor Paul Nathanail of the University of Nottingham. The title of the 10th Glossop Lecture is:
'Engineering geology of sustainable risk based land quality management'
Further information on the speaker and lecture is available on the event flyer.The Glossop award is a prestigious award made annually to an outstanding engineering geologist not older than 30 years of age and working in the profession.
The winner of the 2009 Glossop Award is Stacy English of WA Fairhurst & Partners. Her presentation will immediately precede the Glossop Lecture and is titled:
'Rockfall Protection of Jamestown Wharf, St Helena'
The Glossop Dinner will follow the evening's presentations and will comprise a three course sit-down meal including wine at £45 per person. There is also a combined rate for attendance at both the Glossop Dinner and at the Forum at £170 per person. Booking is essential and may be made using the online system below or the registration form included with the event flyer.

Attendance at the Glossop Lecture and Glossop Award is free - you do not need to register if you only wish to attend the lecture.
