"…a very productive day – great to have so many universities and companies in the same place”

The Society’s annual Careers Day was again a great success. This year’s event moved to a new venue, the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham. The event was held on 17 November and was well attended, with over 400 students from a variety of UK universities. The exhibition was again a sell-out and had representation from both universities and industry. As Careers Day had moved to a bigger venue, four extra exhibitor spaces were available, which were quickly snapped up prior to the event. The main programme was as popular as ever with students reporting that they found the variety of industry-focused and more academic talks helpful, and were encouraged by the number of young speakers.

The Society would like to thank the conference sponsors for their support for this important event; Atkins Limited, BG Group, BP, ExxonMobil, Hess, Nexen Petroleum UK Limited, Shell and Venture Production plc.
