These FAQs should answer any questions you might have, but if you have any queries that aren't answered here, please use the Contact Us form.

Your email provider may have classed the email we sent as spam or junk mail, please check your junk mail folder. If you add our sender’s domain to your safe list (‘@geolsoc.org.uk’) this will avoid this happening in the future. If you have still not received an email from us, please contact us.
This issue can happen occasionally when using Internet Explorer. Please try using an alternative browser (e.g. Firefox). Or when on the Jahia screen, please re-enter the website url https://www.geolsoc.org.uk into the address bar and you will be taken back to the GSL homepage and be logged in correctly.
You can sign up online for the main Society newsletter and our Bookshop newsletter by going to www.geolsoc.org.uk/newslettersignup. Signing up for one newsletter will not automatically sign you up to the other. To receive both newsletters you must sign up to both separately.
I would like to view the William Smith Map, do I need to arrange a viewing?

I am a Fellow but I do not know my login details
I am a Fellow, why is the Fellows Area greyed out when I login?
For a reminder of your login details, please follow the steps above for ‘I have forgotten both my username and my password’. If you do not know your Fellow number, please contact us for further assistance.
Once logged in you can notify us of changes to your Fellowship details in the Fellows Area by clicking the 'Edit' button under Fellowship Details. The Fellows Area information you update sends a notification to staff as it requires some internal processing, we then update this information weekly.
Online CPD Reporting is only available to logged in Fellows. All Fellowsare pre-registered on the site and should not re-register as your Fellowship status will not be recognised and you will not have access to Online CPD Reporting. Please email your name and Fellowship number to membership@geolsoc.org.uk to receive a reminder of your login details.
If you have not received your monthly copy of Geoscientist, please email membership@geolsoc.org.uk.
If you have not received a copy of your subscribed journal, please email membership@geolsoc.org.uk
Once logged in, you first need to make sure that your CV status is set to 'Make my full contact details visible to all (Fellows and public users)” - you can do this by clicking on 'update' under 'Current Fellowship Directory / CV status' in the Fellows Area. If you click on 'View my CV', you will then be able to make your CV visible if you scroll to the bottom of the page, select edit and the tick the box 'Make my CV visible to other users on the website' and then click save.
Once logged in, you can update your visibility in the Fellowship Directory by clicking on 'update' under 'Current Fellowship Directory / CV status' in the Fellows Area. When you have selected your preference, click 'Save' for the changes to take effect.

When I login, I get stuck on a blue 'Jahia' screen

How do I purchase items from the Bookshop using Fellow and/or other member discounts?
Fellows of the Geological Society - please login using your Society pre-registered username and password to view and purchase at the Fellows price. See below for help with forgotten login details.

How can I subsbribe to the e-newsletter?

The William Smith map can be viewed during office hours, 9:30am-5pm weekdays only. No appointment is necessary but please see www.geolsoc.org.uk/smith_map for full details.

I am a Fellow, why is the Fellows Area greyed out when I login?
All Fellows are pre-registered on our website. If you are a Fellow and you have created any other user profiles, please refrain from using them as these will not recognise your Fellowship status and you will not have access to Fellowship services or discounts.

How do I notify you of a change to my Fellowship address?
Once logged in you can notify us of changes to your Fellowship details in the Fellows Area by clicking the 'Edit' button under Fellowship Details. I am trying to access CPD Reporting but I am seeing a message that this is only available to Fellows
Online CPD Reporting is only available to logged in Fellows. How can I make my CV visible?
