Overpressure 2008
| Organised by: | CeREES at the University of Durham |
| Date: | 6-9 April 2008 |
| Event Type: | Conference |
| Venue: | University of Durham |
A conference/workshop dedicated to the challenges posed by subsurface overpressure is timely as the oil/gas industry focuses drilling on deep targets (eg Gulf of Mexico deep shelf gas) and deeper water areas. The ability to predict the magnitude and distribution of overpressure in these regions requires understanding of geological conditions through time, and the characteristics of the sediments in which it is located.
The emphasis of the meeting will be current research, processes related to any aspect of geopressure and worldwide case studies. The programme will be designed to encourage discussion.
Sunday 6 April 2008 Ice Breaker
Monday 7 April to Wednesday 9 April Technical presentations
Tuesday 8 April Conference dinner: Elizabethan banquet at Lumley Castle
