Palaeogeography is a key boundary condition for explorationists in the oil, gas and minerals industries and climate modellers alike.  This meeting has been designed to bring together all interested parties and to look at the problem from three main perspectives: plate tectonic models, which underpin all palaeogeographies; palaeolandscapes, which includes palaeotopography and palaeobathymetry as well as reconstructions of drainage systems; climate and ocean dynamics, which examines how paleogeography imoinges on Earth System Modelling.

Keynote speakers include:

David Rowley (University of Chicago): Palaeoaltimetry and Tibet
Alan Smith (University of Cambridge): Tectonic modelling and its precision
Paul Valdes (University of Bristol): Climate models and palaeogegraphy
Larry Lawver (University of Texas, Austin): Plate modelling the Gulf of Mexico
Simon Dadson (Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, Oxford): Landscape dynamics
Nick Herold (University of Sydney): Tectonic boundary conditions
Ian Dalziel (University of Texas, Austin): pre-Pangaea palaeogeography
