Apply for EurGeol
The Geological Society is licensed by the European Federation of Geologists to review applications for the EurGeol title in the UK. There are three requirements for applicants who are Fellows of the Society:
- Chartered Geologist status
- A commitment to undertake and record CPD each year. All CGeol Fellows, including those holding EurGeol, must confirm that they have undertaken sufficient reflective CPD during the previous year. This CPD may be recorded through the Society's online CPD scheme, although other systems of recording CPD are equally acceptable.

About the European Federation of Geologists
The European Geologist (EurGeol) title is awarded by the European Federation of Geologists (EFG). The Federation was established in 1980 and represents the geological profession across Europe. It has over 25 national association members. There are over 600 individual EurGeol title holders, of which the largest contingent is from the UK.
Other activities of the EFG include promoting the geological profession to the European Commission, for example by contributing to consultations on relevant EU directives; co-organising the International Geology Conference series; and publishing the biannual European Geologist journal (distributed free to all EurGeols).
The European Geologist journal is the voice of the EFG and carries articles on geological issues, both technical and professional and other matters.
