This weekend course asks you to explore current ideas on evolution from a geological viewpoint. This is a practical course for beginners, with a field trip to collect and identify fossils. Among the topics discussed will be natural selection, the origin of species, major events in the evolution of life, and recent discoveries. The course is taught by Dr Peter Sheldon, Senior Lecturer in Earth Sciences at the Open University and has been teaching here at Madingley since 1979.

This is a weekend course at Madingley Hall that takes place from Friday afternoon until Sunday lunchtime. Tuition fees include refreshments and lunch & dinner. It is also possible to stay at Madingley Hall over the weekend, subject to an additional cost starting from £50 per night.
