Eurocodes are now the British Standards controlling the way we work in geotechnical engineering. They should be in everyday use, but David Norbury will review where he think we have got to in this regard. This is important as the Eurocode suite of documents is mandatory and represents a significant change in status compared with the familiar UK Codes of Practice. David will summarise the current position on the status of publication, revision, amendment and implementation of the documents, including the current areas of significant activity.
There is also the added complication of the status and revision of our national standards which is now well advanced. All geotechnical professionals need to know about these changes, how it will affect their everyday professional life, and how they will need to help their clients understand the changes.
So how up to date and prepared are you? You will know more to answer this question after the talk.
