Events & Courses

The Solent Regional Group will be undertaking a field trip to Devon the weekend of 16-17 May 2015. 

On Saturday 16 May, we will meet at the Dartbridge Inn near Buckfastleigh (NGR SX748 665) at 10am to participate in some gold panning. Lunch and facilities will be available at the Dartbridge Inn all day. The event will run until mid-afternoon. 

• Costs - £15 per adult, £5 per child payable on Saturday morning. Members are to arrange their own accommodation for overnight.

On Sunday 17 May, we will be visiting Ladram Bay in East Devon. 

We will meet at the car park on the minor road between Otterton and Sidmouth at 11am (NGR SY109 874). We will be walking along the coastal path to Ladram Bay, some steep paths are expected and members should be booted for this stage of day. At Ladram Bay there will be lunching and facilities available. 

An optional visit to the shoreline to see cliff exposure of Permo-Triassic Sandstones. 

• Please bring hard hats if you have one. No charges anticipated for visit to Ladram Bay.
