During this field trip we will be exploring two locations where there have been significant landslides in Kent with our guide Dr David Giles from the University of Portsmouth.

Meeting Point

10.30am at the Parish Church of St George Weald, Glebe Road, Sevenoaks Weald, Kent (OS NGR TQ 528 513)

Itinerary

During the morning we will be examining the classic relict periglacial landslips surrounding the A21 Sevenoaks By-pass.

In the afternoon, we will then look at the classic London Clay landslides at Warden Point on the Isle of Sheppey, finishing at around 4pm.

Please bring a packed lunch and bear in mind that we will be walking across loose shingle, mud and slippery rocks.
