This one-day conference will be preceded and followed by one-day field meetings and will visit Tendring (pre-) and Lower Thames (post-) sites. The conference and field meetings are being held jointly by the Quaternary Research Association (QRA) and the Essex Field Club.
The last QRA meeting in the Lower Thames was in 1995. Since then much work has been carried out, mostly related to the stratigraphy of the terraces but also on conservation matters. The BGS has also been carrying out interesting work on Quaternary-related matters in the London area.
