Event type:
Lecture
Organised by:
North West Regional Group
Venue:
Catalyst Museum, Widnes, Cheshire
Event status:
EVENT CLOSED

The first North West Regional Group lecture of the season will discuss the works, processes, problems and solutions encountered during the course of the remediation works, required to reduce the extent of contamination associated with the Widnes side of the new Halton/Mersey bridge, prior to development commencing.

We are lucky to have Jon Freeman (Celtic Technologies) and Damian Watkin (Ramboll) to discuss the remediation works which were essential to allow the construction work for the 2nd Mersey Crossing to commence.

The works were undertaken on the Catalyst Trading Park, which is situated within the very close vicinity to the Catalyst Museum where this talk will be held. This area has had a significant legacy from the extensive industrialisation of this area, especially associated with the alkali works common.

The Lecture will start promptly at 6:30pm. The venue is a great place to explore if you have to opportunity to arrive a little early, with a viewing point on the rooftop observatory where the site for of the 2nd Mersey Crossing should be easily seen (depending upon the weather!).
