  • A practical session to look at a large selection of rocks, minerals, fossils, thin sections and geological maps from across Britain. A large selection of rocks, minerals and fossils from around the world are also available for students to handle.
  • A morning field trip to examine the intrusive contact between the Threlkeld microgranite and Skiddaw Group in Threlkeld Quarry. This is followed by a visit to examine the geological collection at Threlkeld Quarry Mining Museum (the museum will open especially for the course participants).
