Building on the success of the “History of Geology and Medicine” conference held in 2011 and the subsequent publication SP375 of the Geological Society of the same name, this meeting will celebrate the Tercentenary of Sir John Hill.
The meeting will investigate the lives and work of physicians who have contributed to Geology.
It will trace the historical links between Geology and disease (lithotherapy, public health, hydrogeology and occupational health).
The meeting will be of interest to geologists, medical professionals, historians of science and lay persons.

Morning Excursion in London: “Walking in the steps of James Parkinson”
- Monday 3-Tuesday 4 November
Speakers from Europe, Turkey, Israel, New Zealand, North America and Argentina will present 28 talks and 8 posters, with a Conference Dinner on 3 November.
