Current representation on the International Commission on Stratigraphy
Each subcommission of the
International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) has an executive and about 20 voting members worldwide each of whom are elected. As well as other work, voting members are responsible for commenting and voting on proposals for GSSPs from the working groups.
- Prof. Graham Shields: Chair of ICS working group on chronostratigraphic subdivision of the pre-Cryogenian (2019- ); Voting member of the Cryogenian Subcommission (2012- ).
Previously held positions on the International Commission on Stratigraphy. Current members of the Stratigraphy Commission have previously held the following positions:
- Prof. Graham Shields: Chair of Cryogenian Subcommission (2012-2020); Secretary of the Neoproterozoic Subcommission (2004-2012); Voting member of the Ediacaran Subcommission (2012-2020).
