The 2nd Geology for Global Development (GfGD) National Conference, a one-day event hosted by the Geological Society and aimed at students and recent graduates, will help young geologists consider the cross-cutting skills required to effectively apply their technical knowledge to development contexts.

Topics include cultural understanding, meaningful consultation, strengthening technical capacity and engaging with policy.

There will also be an introductory lecture on the likely development challenges of the next 15 years, a keynote lecture on 'Re-framing Volcanic Risk to Strengthen Resilience', and an opportunity to hear more about the work and future of Geology for Global Development.
