Assessment of the hazards and risk to communities, infrastructure and development projects is often a key requirement and output of applied geomorphology projects. The module is taught by Prof. Mark Lee, author of 'Landslide Risk Assessment'.

The module will review various approaches and case work on how the results of hazard and risk assessments are communicated and acted upon by clients and the public using local and international casework. Participants will develop skills in a range of QRA and probabilistic methods. Project work will include undertaking a hazard and risk analysis for a site of choice to inform management actions.

The CPD course includes 5-days tuition, course booklet and learning resources, and assessment (optional) for 15 credits towards an MSc.
