The Geological Society Club has been transformed into a new Specialist Group of the Society – the Geological Society Discussion Group.
All Fellows of the Society are welcome to attend its meetings, at which a speaker will introduce a topic of current geological interest, leading to discussion over dinner.
At this meeting a committee will be elected, the business of the newly formed discussion group will be covered and suggestions for the programme for 2017 will be invited. As you will be aware, in 2017 we plan to hold discussion over dinners in differing locations, including the Athenaeum, Burlington House and some lower cost alternative, to widen the attraction of the dinners to younger members. Your input on the next year’s programme will be welcome.
Nominations for the committee (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) should be sent to me. The President of the Society, Malcolm Brown, is willing to stand as Chair. Danny Clark-Lowes is willing to stand as Secretary and Adam Law is willing to stand as Treasurer. Please do attend the AGM if you possibly can.

Attendance at the Discussion Group dinner meeting costs £57 per person, for four courses, coffee and port.
There is a cash bar for the purchase of wine and other drinks.
