Following last month's British Science Festival in Bradford, speakers from the SocieCSI geology.jpgty's Forensic Geoscience Group explain how they are using their geological expertise to help police. Whilst the application of geology to the solving of crimes has been carried out for over 100 years, it is only in the last decade that forensic geology has undergone a rennaissance, increasingly used in searching for and apprehending criminals.

And Frances Wall of the Camborne School of Mines, who took part in the British Geological Survey's 'Metals, Mines and Mobiles' event, explains what Rare Earth Elements are, and whether we should be concerned about their future supply.
