This trip will explore the Glens of Antrim coast road and world famous Giant’s Causeway, focusing on bedrock and other controls on landslips. In the Sperrin Mountains we will explore geological issues that affect the development of wind farms. An optional tour of the Quaternary deposits of the Belfast Lagan Valley is available for those arriving earlier on Friday, and will include an overview of the developing urban model and issues related to compressible ground.
