The Scottish Geotechnical Group of the ICE and The Central Scotland Regional Group of the Geological Society are jointly hosting a poster competition in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology.

The event will coincide with a social evening for members and guests of both groups. Entry is open to geotechnical engineers, geologists and related construction professionals, including research students. Entrants should be under 30 years of age and only one person may enter on each poster.

The format for the competition is in two stages comprising display of a poster whilst answering informal questions from the judges followed by a 10 minute presentation of the poster with a 5 minute question/answer session. Depending on the number of entrants, pre-selection for entry to stage 2 will be carried out on the night by a panel of judges. A maximum of four entrants will progress to stage 2.

Those intending to enter should notify Scott Robinson no later than 20 November 2015.
