Following on from the previous successful events in this series, the 11th EURO-conference committees are delighted to organise and host the 11th Euro-conference on Rock Physics and Geo-Mechanics in Ambleside, Lake District, UK. The theme of the conference will be 'Holistic Rock Physics: integrating theory, observation and applications in space and time'

Sessions will include

  • Fault healing/sealing,
  • Time-dependent deformation,
  • Hydration/dehydration in crustal rocks,
  • Induced seismicity,
  • Scaling relations,
  • and Fluid-driven fracture mechanics. 
A field trip to outcrops of the Borrowdale Volcanic Group will be arranged during the conference week.

We welcome abstract submissions, oral and poster presentations. Find out more on the conference website.

Important dates

  • Abstract submission and registration open - 1 March 2015
  • Zero-conference fee application deadline - 1 June 2015 
  • Early bird registration closes. Abstract submission closes - 1 July 2015
  • Registration closes - 15 August 2015 
The actual sessions will begin on Monday 6 September at 08.45. We suggest you arrive in Ambleside on Sunday from 15.30 for registration and a sandwich lunch.

The conference will end on Thursday 10 September at approximately 16.10, but we have arranged accommodation and a barbeque that evening and hope you will stay on for the party – perhaps participating in a jam session – and leave on Friday morning.

Cost

  • £495 to £660

The fee also includes accommodation (optional), conference dinner and barbecue

25 'zero fee' places are available for students and early-career researchers. If you would wish to apply for the 'zero-fee' grant please indicate this at time of abstract submission using the appropriate section on the abstract template.
