We are delighted to welcome you to the Joint Assembly 2017 meeting at the University of Liverpool. This is the first joint meeting of three of the Geological Society’s Specialist Groups: VMSG, TSG and BGA.
A key aim of the conference is to celebrate the latest developments in volcanology, tectonics and geophysics and their research communities. We have put together an engaging scientific programme which presents the latest discoveries and advances in each discipline, exploring and discussing the plethora of cross-discipline research that is pushing the frontiers across Earth Sciences in the UK and overseas.
With research strengths in Volcanology, Rock Deformation and Microstructures, and Earthquake Seismology and Geodynamics, students and postdocs will have the the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops after the conference which focus on experimental volcanology and seismology.
Please join us in 2017 as we also celebrate 100 years of Geology at the University of Liverpool.
Venue
The conference will be held in the University of Liverpool’s award-winning Central Teaching Hub (CTH), with a Meet-and-Greet event at McCooleys, Ice-breaker with poster session in the CTH and conference party (including dinner) at the Camp and Furnace.
Liverpool is a great city to host this joint meeting with its reputation as a fun-loving, culture-filled and vibrant city.
